HP Desktop Won't Boot And Fans Stop Spinning
Tried to get a post.. I simply opened the case, blew out ALL the dust bunnies, in the case and on all the boards and heatsink, fans etc, reseated all the power supply cables/connectors, especially the The CPU fan turns slightly and immediately stops after the power button is pushed. I had wondered if it was my PSU. Fans spin for half a second and then turn off.

I would not run cables under my mobo. Look for cylindrical cans the appear to have bulged ends or worse. If it is a CPU fan then you might have a bad CPU or Motherboard. Thought it was motherboard, happened once before and I had motherboard replaced. I just have both power plugs 24pin and 4pin connected to the board nothing else (the cpu fan is still connected). Is there anything else hardware related that could be causing the problem. UNTIL I read kevdmd's post above. This morning it started up just fine, last night I had to struggle for like 15 mins before I was able to start it up.
But I found out that socket 939 is dead. solved Computer won't boot. And how can I fix this? thank you.well scratch that about two rigs working.
