If anyone has any ideas, or knows a competent exorcist, I'm all ears. I can NOT make sure the paper is pushed down to the bottom of the cassette. When I clear the page and reprint, same thing. I've checked to make sure the corners of the stack are under the metal clips, I've made sure the paper size guide is securely in the proper notch. I might bury in the backyard along with the refurbished cartridge I just ordered!I'm not giving up.Tomorrow off to Staples to buy some air. Choose envelopes that are close to 20-lb paper in weight and thickness. If the printer can do a self test, it is likely the printer is not the problem. Repairing a fuser assembly is generally not recommended because the fuser is considered a consumable printer part and not worth the time or effort to fix.

- I already cleaned them, as mentioned in the OP, and further, it makes no sense that I would have 2 jams in the first 12,000 pages and now maybe 4 jams
- VERY LOW USAGE -- original owner only changed two or three toner carts.
- It's not an easy job.
The paper jam error led lights up. In these cases, it’s best to consult the printer manual and find out what printers the drivers will emulate. You didn't mention that the printer is grabbing more than one sheet at a time or that the first page is not fed all the way through, so I'm assuming the I can get it to feed by pushing the reset button, but it doesn't print under those conditions--just flushes the paper out, reloads a new sheet, and jams again.I am suspecting
My favorite was some years ago when one electrocuted itself on the charge corona wire of a LaserJet III. When troubleshooting a 79 error, first open the Printer folder from the Start menu on the Print server to make sure there are no jobs pending. If it's broken on one side, then it won't push the paper against the cartridge drum and you won't get print on that side. Upgrade to Windows 8.1 [Microsoft] by waterline411.

Lastly, humidity and poor-quality paper can cause paper jams.
I can´t see how to remove the cover - either the whole plastic cover or the metalplate in the bottom. It reports a paper problem and when opened I find the paper taken up for an inch or so and then it's all stopped. Thanks!
