Do not buy a slower one and expect to overclock it. I mean is 20% overclock worth almost +20c in heat?? I've probably set something wrong here, so please let me know.
The results mean more bad news for the folks at AMD.
raise ur vcore to 1.2v and fsb to 400mhz and test. That is, the RAM frequency should be 350 Mhz if the CPU frequency is 350 Mhz, but the DDR speed or frequency should be 700 Mhz for such a setting. Jan 26, 2008 I7 3770 with stock cooler, what are your max temps? BTW: is your ram set to 1:1 ratio?

The HotHardware team got it to run at 3.92GHz using the stock Intel air-cooler. Even while overclocked the CPU temperature didn't
I see AmberClad has her E8400 E0 pumped up to 4.2, and I'm assuming the voltage is the value in BIOS monitor. Any ideas? but I can appreciate your difficulty. With a few more tweeks may get 3.6mhz.
The C0s seem to have a lower max OC, and require a bit more voltage than an E0. - Have you set your RAM voltage correctly? You'll have to get those temperatures down first. I prefer to use Prime95 for stress testing and would consider atleast a 24hr error free run in small, large and blend to be stable.
